Tiered Sprint Rewards
Introducing Tiered Sprint Rewards, a new way to distribute USDC and Zaps rewards based on rank tiers instead of proportional XP. Define exactly how much each rank position receives, creating clear incentives for top performers while ensuring fair distribution across all participants.
Why Tiered Rewards?
Previously, sprint rewards were distributed proportionally based on XP, which could lead to:
- Unclear payouts that were hard to predict before competing
- Top performers receiving disproportionately large or small shares
- Users with same XP have the same rewards
With tiered rewards, you can now configure exact reward allocations for specific rank ranges. Each tier receives a percentage of the total pool, split evenly among members in that rank range. This means users within the same tier always receive the exact same reward, ensuring fairness and transparency.
How It Works
Setting up tiered rewards is straightforward:
- Create or edit a sprint with a USDC
- Enable "Use rank-based tiers" in the Tiered Distribution section
- Configure your tier ranges and percentage allocations
- Ensure your percentages total exactly 100%
- Save and publish your sprint
For example, with a $100 USDC pool:
| Tier | Ranks | Allocation | Per User |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🥇 | 1-3 | 50% | $16.67 |
| 🥈 | 4-10 | 30% | $4.29 |
| 🥉 | 11-50 | 20% | $0.50 |
Built-in Validation
The system automatically validates your configuration and warns you about:
- Overlapping ranges: Each rank should only belong to one tier
- Gap detection: Warns if any ranks between tiers would receive no rewards
- Inverted rewards: Alerts you if lower ranks would receive more than higher ranks
- Percentage limits: Ensures allocations total exactly 100%
Users will see the complete tier breakdown directly on the leaderboard, showing exactly what each rank position earns. Start creating clearer incentive structures for your community today.
